MORE ABOUT
NEEDLESS TO SAY

The Builder, Leshem's debut album, was recorded upon his arrival to NYC in May 2015. The music is comprised of six original tunes featuring Omer's distinct writing style. Each composition reveals a slightly different, yet overlapping, dimensions of Omer's musical vision.

Alongside Leshem, the band presents guitarist Tal Yahalom, bassist Almog Sharvit, and drummer Ben Silashi, all originally from Israel. Their shared roots can be heard in their spontaneity and playfulness.

"The Whole Day" suite is built of two opposing parts, each expressing a different mind set and states of being. Part one is slow, ambiguous, and ends dramatically. Part two, however, is energetic and at times humorous and cathartic.

"Green Valley #2" is one out of three compositions named Green Valley that Omer has composed in an effort to capture different perspectives on the vast openness of the fields of Scotland. The slow movement between the triadic chords helps shape feelings of stillness and suspension.

"Nuestra Casa", our house, is an Israeli-Latin song that mixes both influences to portray the warmth and casualty of home life. The lyrical line and harmony have roots in Israeli Folk songs from the beginning of the 20th century and the light rhythmic groove is influenced by Brazilian Choro music.
